Summer Excursion
On Saturday 10th June six members assembled at Forsinard in beautiful weather and introduced ourselves to our Adrian, our guide for the afternoon.
Conditions were virtually perfect for a walk across the peatlands with the wind being stronger than was strictly necessary, but at least it eliminated all possibility of being bothered by the midges but it did mean that there was little sign of birdlife.
However our guide kept us enthralled with details of the plantlife and its associated insects etc. whilst going into details as the lifecycle of spagnum moss.
On our return to the station we had time to chat comfortably out of the wind and to tour the very interesting visitor centre.
