BBC Radio Scotland News at 1 p.m. on 8 December, a rather breezy day, told its listeners that, not only was a landslide blocking the Kyle line, but that "First ScotRail have withdrawn all their double deckers." That's what comes of allowing a bus company to run trains - or perhaps there are so many trains replaced by buses during disruptions that the reporter no longer knows the difference.
