On 9th July the UK's largest and newest cruise ship MV Britannia docked at Invergordon as part of her maiden cruise around the UK. In 2015 the Port of Cromarty Firth, as the Invergordon port is officially known, is hosting 57 cruise liner visits with a total of around 91,000 passengers and 30,000 crew.
This level of tourism represents an ideal opportunity for the Far North Line to be the vehicle of choice for viewing large areas of northern Scotland in real comfort. Let's hope that Abellio, with its avowed interest in promoting tourist traffic, will rise to the challenge.
