This may look a little frivolous at first sight, I think "light hearted" would be more apt. It is described on the website as "Fantasy Tram Network for Inverness" and, because this is the UK, it will probably remain so. However it is well worth studying, particularly if you know Inverness well, and visiting www.simonvarwell.co.uk/iarann to read what Simon Varwell, the map's designer, was thinking. Simon is a travel writer and his website is worth a visit even if trams don't appeal!
The fact is, such radical transport thinking seems to rarely cross the mind of politicians - local and national - and the experts in the field, i.e. Transport Scotland, can't consider anything like this without political instruction.
